The Downside to Streaming WebCams...

Well, after returning home from North Carolina I discovered "The Downside to Streaming WebCams". What seemed like a nice idea, allowing all viewers to check "Live" conditions on the Lake for free, has resulted in a huge increase in bandwidth. I had already purchased a monthly allowance of 40 GB on top of what my service provider normally allows, at an additional cost. Unfortunately, when users spend hours viewing the Lake and don't disconnect from the Streaming WebCams, I am in fact "Uploading" to their computers. As you can understand, this becomes pretty expensive, especially now, as I have surpassed my monthly allowance. I therefore have switched the cameras off until the next billing cycle. They will be back on after the 20th of June, but will only upload images every couple of minutes, until I can determine the amount of bandwidth that is being used. My last resort will be to block the IP Numbers of the offenders (You know who you are), or to put passwords on the cameras that will allow only registered users to access them...
